South African Nuclear Energy Corporation
Phumzile Tshelane was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation in 2012. Prior to his appointment, Tshelane served as acting general manager of the Eskom Nuclear New Build Division from 2010-2012.
Tschelane has participated in long-term national and international academic research projects and held a number of key positions including vice president of the Nuclear Industry Association of South Africa (NIASA); a non-executive director of NIASA, acting as Eskom representative; a member of the NIASA board’s finance committee; founding member and steering committee chairperson of the South African Nuclear Human Asset and Research Programme; and founding member and founding member and chairperson of the RGM School of Excellence’s board of directors.
Phumzile Tshelane holds a Bachelor of Science Honours (BSc Hons) degree in Nuclear Physics and an Executive Development Programme (EDP) (WITS).
